"Prior to moving to Fountain Inn, I contacted the Anthony Bennon State Farm agency to set up auto and home owners insurance. Kristy Markey did an exceptional job putting together our policies. She answered all of my questions promptly and was very professional. I stopped in the office to meet her when I came for my walk-through on the new house and was greeted warmly by the staff. State Farm and Kristy are indeed "like a good neighbor"!"

"One of my family’s primary concerns has been communication surrounding a September 2022 claim. At the time, the police report indicated that our driver was not at fault. Then, in September 2024, after believing the matter had been resolved for nearly two years, we learned from a third party that we had been named in a lawsuit that State Farm was handling.

Given the significance of that situation, we contacted the agency and specifically asked to be kept informed of future developments. Approximately a year ago, after again learning from a source other than our agency about developments in the matter, we renewed that request. Despite those conversations, we continued to learn important claim information through others rather than directly from our agency, including just this week, when we learned of a change in the claim’s status that could have implications for our insurance record and future insurance costs.

More recently, and as a separate matter, we requested a review of our policies and accounts and were told we would receive a response by a specific date. Several days have passed since the date we were told we would receive a response. Despite additional follow up on our part, that review has not occurred, and the promised response has not been provided.

A recent administrative interaction regarding our home security system certificate also fell short of my expectations for customer service. It was a simple administrative matter, yet even there, the communication lacked the basic courtesy I consider a minimum standard for any customer, and particularly for a longtime client.

Taken individually, any one of these issues might have been easier to overlook. Viewed together, they have left us with less confidence in the level of communication and follow through we can expect from our agency. I’ve been a State Farm customer for nearly 30 years, including nearly a decade with this particular State Farm agency. That history makes this review difficult to write and is not the experience we expected to have."
